Neenah is a quiet Wisconsin town located where the Fox River empties into Lake Winnebago. Because of its ideal location on the lake, Neenah offers a wide variety of activities, from boating, fishing, and water skiing in the summer to ice fishing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling in the winter. If water isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other parks and preserves in the area to explore.

Riverside Park

Riverside Park lies at the opening of Lake Winnebago and offers stunning views of the Neenah Channel. This quaint little park offers access to the river for kayaks and canoes.

A beautiful walking path shaded by maples and oaks circles the perimeter and gives you a complete picture of the channel. The Riverside Park Pavilion hosts a concert in the park twice a year and is the perfect venue for weddings, birthdays, and prom pictures.

The park is just a short walk away from Neenah Point and the Neenah Lighthouse, which has been guiding boats off Lake Winnebago since 1945.

Trestle Trail

The Trestle Trail is part of the much larger Friendship Trail which is currently under construction. When completed, the trail will run from Stevens Point to Manitowoc.
The trails follow the routes of old railroad beds and are part of the Rails-to-Trails conservation effort.
The Trestle Bridge, which spans the Fox River is the longest in the state at 1,600 feet and includes fishing platforms and a pavilion.

Heckrodt Wetland Reserve

Take your family on a wild adventure at the Heckrodt Wetland Reserve, where you can get the experience of exploring the deep woods in an urban setting. Located across the river in Menasha, the preserve is 76 beautiful acres that preserve habitats such as swamps, lakes, prairie, and forest.
The Living Waters exhibit is just one of the many displays in the reserve and offers visitors a chance to view local fish, turtles, and snakes. Take a stroll along three miles of trails and 4,000 feet of boardwalk through the wetland habitat where you’ll be able to see birds and frogs. The reserve is also a great place to snowshoe in the winter, offering a unique perspective to visitors that only come during the summer.
